D5WORK-IT

Product Overview

It used to be easy to schedule ten cars a week in your workshop. But as volumes have increased, and Insurer imposed turnaround times are commonplace, scheduling a panel shop in the most effective and efficient manner has become one of the most challenging tasks facing the modern panel shop owner. Keeping your workshop productive at the highest levels is a constant, unforgiving, and demanding process.

Which job should you start the week with? Should you chop and change jobs to keep people busy because the paint shop full while panel beaters are standing around with nothing to do. These are all symptoms of the need for a better approach to workshop scheduling & monitoring.

Stoppages and bottlenecks slow production down by as much as 25%. Smoothing out the process is the challenge. D5Work-IT from Daytona5 Systems is the answer. A computer based workshop scheduling & monitoring system that uses each technicians efficiency rating and their daily availability to determine the most efficient workflow practices in your workshop. All this helps you achieve the main objective of getting each vehicle through the workshop in as little elapsed time as possible - and to deliver each vehicle on time to the satisfaction of your customers.

System Features Include...

  • Setup your particular production week to be 5, 5½ or 6 days.
  • Allocate the number of hours worked in the Morning and Afternoon and nominate the start/end times for each work session
  • Labour activities include, Strip, Repair, Plastic Repair, Paint Prep, Prime, Paint, Other Paint, De-nib, Refit, Mechanical, and Detail.
  • Labour activities can be grouped or displayed individually. Eg. Only display Panel and Paint or show more detail by breaking up into Panel, Paint Prep, Paint etc.
  • Each technician is assigned an Efficiency Rating which all time line calculations are based on. The efficiency rating can vary the actual time spent in the workshop depending on the assigned technician. As activities are allocated to a technician, the target time will decrease or increase based on his efficiency rating.
  • Any special qualifications or ranking can be recorded against each technician to make better task allocation decisions.
  • All technicians are assigned to a labour activity type/s. Eg. Strip, Repair or Detail.
  • Individual efficiency ratings are displayed against each technician in the scheduling window.
  • Fill each technician's day and then print a Daily WorkSheet listing all his jobs, the start order, and the target time allocated for each task.
  • Fine tune the workflow as the day progresses and reallocate or park jobs if required. This is sometimes necessary when a New part has to be ordered for an item that cannot be repaired. The job is effectively on hold until the part arrives so you can move it out of the way if it makes more sense to do so.
  • When used in conjunction with our Time Recording system, you can instantly recognise any jobs/task that is running behind schedule by comparing it to the Current Time line.
  • Prioritise jobs as required and sort them on screen for easy management
  • View all jobs for a particular Insurer and check whether they are ahead or behind schedule.
